Between June 5 and 7, the director of InvestChile, Carlos Álvarez V., will accompany President Michelle Bachelet on her official visit to Toronto (Canada) and Seattle (United States). In both cities, he will meet with local companies, including both those that already have operations in Chile and others that are interested in investing.
It is important to note that the United States is Chile’s most important market for non-copper exports, which reached US$6,285 million in 2015. It is also Chile’s principal source of foreign investment, accounting for 25.8% of the total inflow and an accumulated amount of over US$29,000 million.
In turn, Canada is the fourth largest source of investment in Chile, accounting for an inflow of US$7,277 million between 2009 and 2015, equivalent to 5% of the total.
